Tanilba House, Port Stephens
c1831
Recently celebrating its 190th birthday, Tanilba House is the oldest original home in Port Stephens. The homestead is an imposing 6-bedroom stone residence that was built by convicts from locally quarried stone. Sitting on a peninsula almost surrounded by water, it has three acres of whimsical gardens and also overlooks beautiful Port Stephens. Tanilba House is home to many interesting features such as the Temple of the Stork Rotunda at the bottom of our field, waterfront beaches near the house, and a Fig Tree Cathedral area that is a stunning photography backdrop. With very limited number of weddings each year, couples who choose Tanilba House can expect a very personal service. Really step back in time by staying in the original Maid’s Quarter, which is the perfect accommodation for couples and their selected guests.

Bendooley Estate, Southern Highlands
c1820
Bendooley Estate's evolution into the Southern Highlands' most desirable estate began with a special wedding two hundred years ago. Originally, the land was granted to Sir William Henry Moore who later passed the Estate on to his sister on her marriage in 1818. One of its well-loved features is The Book Barn. Named after Leo Berkelouw who was an antiquarian-book-dealer with a thriving business in Sydney, he required larger quarters, so he purchased the property and relocated his family and books to Bendooley Estate. Today, The Berkelouw Book Barn is a unique wedding space where you can celebrate your wedding surrounded by books, the roaring fireplace and the stunning gardens of the estate.

Overlooking gardens that are arguably Australia's finest and that have inspired painters and writers since the early 1800's, the estate offers breathtaking views in every direction. Milton Park’s garden was designed by the English School of Landscape and still is the only work undertaken outside of Europe.
Sylvan Glen Country Estate, Southern Highlands

The guest house with its beautiful country backdrop was a great place to relax with friends and family over a weekend of a wedding celebration. It is simple and rustic with the little touches (the shepherd's hut for the girls to get ready, the boys room with fireplace and pool table, the odd chandelier) that make the Estate special.
