A bride-to-be recently asked us during a meeting, "Are all the photographs on your website real?" At first, we thought if she was asking if all the photographs that we show on our website are ours. Of course, they are! It took us a few seconds to realise that what she was really asking is if all the wedding photographs that are from REAL weddings.
And the answer is a resounding YES!
You may have heard of Styled Shoots. This is where a team of wedding vendors get together and organise a "perfect" wedding scenario that of course, includes professional models. While we completely agree that Styled Shoots is great for networking, we think it would be very misleading for a photographer to showcase the photographs from this shoot as a true representation of the photographer's capabilities.
Real Wedding Moments…
Couples who work with us are attracted to candid wedding photographs for their wedding. Like us, they believe that the most powerful, moving and memorable photographs come from unscripted moments. These are the photos that evoke lifelong feelings that will be treasured forever.
We immerse ourselves in every moment that occurs on a wedding day – from the preparation of the couples through to the wedding and reception – and we love to capture those moments without direction, while still being able to frame them with a creative eye. We’ve learned the secret to best wedding photography is to be there for every moment and to allow each moment to spontaneously occur.
Styled Shoots are not Real

From a business point of view, this is a great way to connect and promote each other's businesses. While we completely agree that Styled Shoots is great for networking, we think it would be very misleading for a photographer to showcase the photographs from this shoot as a true representation of the photographer's capabilities.
While the shots are beautiful and look like they have come from a magazine - it's because they are more like 'fashion shoots.' You have two gorgeous models who are professional in front of the camera, they are perfectly groomed with the make-up artist on call to do touch-ups during the photoshoots, there are no guests waiting for the 'couple', and the photographer can do as many takes as required to get that 'perfect shot.'
We have photographed hundreds of weddings, and we can tell you that there are no take 2 in weddings!
Relive your wedding day
When our clients receive their collection of photographs many are surprised to see themselves in some photos because they weren’t aware of our existence during their most private moments. We try to be as ‘invisible’ as possible, so clients don’t feel overwhelmed or intimidated. We’re committed to silently observing intimate moments and capturing beautiful, tender experiences.
Our approach is to capture every moment and to not detract from the magic of the occasion. This ensures the photographs capture the real essence of the event, and importantly, we allow the couple to experience their wedding day as naturally as possible.
We believe wedding photographs should transcend time, and like all great romances, their magic should last forever.
