As much as a wedding is about you as a couple, it’s also a story about your connection with the people who are closest to you. Of course, one of them is your dad. As a daughter, he is the man who has first shown you unconditional love. And as a son, he is the person who’s guided you to be the man that you are now.

Amongst the excitement, the chaos and the nerves, I love capturing those quiet, unscripted candid moments between father and daughter, and father and son during a wedding. Some times Dad sits back and looks on from a corner as you get ready. Other times he gets right there in the action.

In his eyes, you can see the story that plays in his head: the moment he first held you when you were born; the excitement he felt when you took your first steps, and the pride that runs through him now as he watches you embark on another life’s journey.

I acknowledge that being a Dad includes that special man in your life who has taken on this important role. He deserves a special recognition on your wedding day.

There are funny moments, and often, there are teary ones – all of them worth capturing and remembering. From dad walking the bride down the aisle, dad helping the bride and the groom get ready, dad figuring out how to do up his daughter’s elaborate wedding dress, dad’s first look of the bride, dad and bride’s bridal dance, dad’s heartfelt speech and of course, dad getting it down on the dance floor!
