Thinking of getting married in one of NSW’s National Parks? NSW boasts a number of beautiful national parks, and the good news is that you can get married in one of those parks! Whether you are having a big wedding or thinking of an elopement, there is a park that is right for you!

We have captured a lot of weddings in NSW National Parks – some even have venues that you can hire.

Why get married in NSW Parks? If you are a lover of nature, then you would certainly love to get married in a National Park. Not only that, most of the national parks have the best views and make for amazing landscape backdrops, and the good news is that these parks can be right at your doorstep!

Tomaree National Park, Port Stephens

Located in Port Stephens, Tomaree National Park is surrounded by white sandy beaches, secluded bays and lush bush settings. Choose from Barry Park, Fingal Bay, Zenith Beach, Shoal Bay, Nelson Bay all the way to Soldiers Point – this pristine coastal town will mesmerise you and make your dream beach wedding come true! Depot Beach, Murramarang National Park, Batemans Bay

You will fall in love with Depot Beach at Batemans Bay for your wedding and the beautiful spotted gum trees that surround it, which is native to the area. The beach, with its white sand backed by rainforest, is a perfect spot to have your beach wedding ceremony, while The Rainforest Walk gives you a lush green backdrop for your wedding photos.

Bradleys Head Amphitheatre, Mosman

With uninterrupted views of Sydney Opera House, Harbour Bridge and Fort Denison, it is easy to see why Bradleys Head is one of the most popular outdoor locations for Sydney weddings. Beyond the views, Bradleys Head also offers plenty of natural backdrops for your wedding photography.

I particularly love the huge trees and of course, the atmosphere of this wonderful Sydney location. There are also plenty of other wedding venues around and I have had many couples who got married in nearby wedding venues such as Taronga Zoo, Gunners Barracks, Sergeants Mess and Athol Hall, and we have all come to Bradleys Head for their bridal entourage and couple wedding photos.

Bare Island Fort, La Perouse

This is a place that is close to my heart, as my first few weddings when I just arrived in Australia were photographed here. Twenty years on it remains to be one of my favourite places to go for couple’s portraits! The wooden bridge that connects to the island, the towering sandstones and the sea make Bare Island Fort a very interesting location for wedding photography.

Hornby Lighthouse, Watsons Bay

I love taking my couples on an easy walk along the South Heritage track to the lighthouse where magical views await them. The scenery takes your breath away with its vastness and wild beauty. The still functioning iconic red and white Hornby Lighthouse, constructed in 1858, is a perfect visual contrast to the blue ocean beyond. Take a seat or enjoy the view, and I will capture your quiet moments together.

Bouddi National Park, Central Coast

Bouddi National Park near Gosford is a serene location perfect for your sunset wedding photos. With a beautiful setting of bush and a stretch of sandy beach, it’s a quiet spot to have your wedding ceremony by the seashore.

Nielsen Park, Vaucluse

Located in Sydney’s eastern suburb of Vaucluse, Nielsen Park offers a beachfront location, Shark Beach and harbour views. With onsite wedding venues The Greycliffe House, a Heritage-listed 1800s building, and The Nielsen, a waterfront restaurant, Nielsen Park is for couples who appreciate old-worldly charm.

Cape Byron Bay, NSW

Long before Byron Bay became a favourite celebrity hangout, couples were already flocking to this popular NSW coastal town to say I Do. You can certainly have the ultimate Byron Bay wedding with an outdoor ceremony at the famous Cape Byron Lighthouse. Considered as one of New South Wales’ most amazing locations, not only for its breathtaking ocean view, but also for its historical significance. It surely is an impressive choice for exchanging wedding vows and the nearby Wategos Beach is also a perfect location for wedding photos.

Shark Island, Sydney

Is it possible to have an island wedding without leaving Sydney? Yes, it is! Arrive in style, on a boat, at your wedding destination! You and your guests will feel like the only people on the island. This small island lies off the Sydney suburbs of Point Piper, Rose Bay and Vaucluse. Shark Island makes one of Sydney’s unique and idyllic outdoor wedding venues.

Worimi National Park (Port Stephens and Newcastle)

For something truly magical and different, Worimi National Park located near Newcastle is home to extraordinary cultural and natural sites. The largest moving coastal sand dunes in the Southern Hemisphere, the Stockton dunes, is absolutely impressive for your wedding photos.
