Barry Park, Fingal Bay Wedding

Barry Park, Fingal Bay wedding is one of my favourites to photograph in Port Stephens, and quite easily, in the world! It is a breathtaking blend of sea, sand and rocks. Meet our couples who had their wedding at Barry Park.

When Alessandro and Karen told me that their wedding ceremony will be at Barry Park overlooking Fingal Beach, I knew that their day will be something special. Alessandro was originally from Italy, and Fingal Bay was the first place that he visited in Australia. “Karen’s family has holidayed there for decades and it was the first place I visited to meet her family when I came to Australia, so it had a particular significance for both of us. It’s a place of many happy memories, it’s calm and quiet and absolutely beautiful.”

Their ceremony had a lot of lovely feelings about it and a perfect reflection of who they are as a couple. “We wanted it to be relaxed, fun and romantic because that is what we want our marriage to be.”

No one knew it at the time, but Alessandro and Karen, just managed to get married before the wedding restrictions happened due to Covid-19. When we asked him what he remembers most of his wedding day, he said “In amidst all of the chaos it’s your family and friends and the love that you share that matters. That, and as our gorgeous MC pointed out, if rain on your wedding day is meant to be a good omen, then a pandemic means you’ll be happily married forever and ever and ever after.” What a positive attitude!

We are also always happy to receive kind words from my couples “Florent and Angel were lovely to deal with – they made us feel comfortable and were very professional, even under such peculiar circumstances. We loved working with them!”

Alyssa & Nicholas’ Barry Park Wedding

Like many couples who had their wedding set for 2020, Alyssa and Nicholas had to postpone their wedding at Barry Park and reception at Saltwater Restaurant. Thankfully, when their big day finally came around the restrictions had been lifted and they were able to celebrate with their guests!
