When you think of Port Stephens weddings, you imagine blue water, white sandy beaches and plenty of secret bays. Let me let you in on a secret: Port Stephens also offers something quite different and most people are surprised to discover this country gem of a wedding venue. Wonganella Estate now known as Sunset and Vine is a ‘coastal’ vineyard right in the heart of Port Stephens. Yes, you read that right - a vineyard wedding is possible in Port Stephens! Check out our couples’ weddings at Sunset Vine, Wonganella Estate.

Wonganella Estate Wedding of Jessica and Lukus

Jessica and Lukus chose the bushland that surrounds Sunset Vine at Wonganella Estate for their wedding ceremony while the Barrel Room was a blank canvas that was lovingly transformed into something elegant. It was a perfect choice for this couple who wanted an understated and relaxed wedding to reflect their personalities.

Sunset Vine Wedding of Chloe & Michael

Both in the navy, they know that life can be unpredictable and full of changes. For their wedding, they had to deal with change of dates, border closures and change of venue. In the end, the tides worked with them and their wedding came all together beautifully at Sunset Vine Wonganella.

Wonganella Estate Weddings (now known as Sunset Vine at Wonganella) are perfect for couples like Jessica and Lukus, and Chloe and Michael who want a relaxed vibe for their wedding. It sits on top of the hill, which affords a grand view of Bobs Farm. The couples exchanged their wedding vows outdoors with the bushland in the background.

Sunset Vine at Wonganella offers plenty of natural backdrops that you don’t have to leave Wonganella Estate for your couple portraits and bridal entourage photographs. There is the vineyard, the bush outlook and even a small tropical garden to choose from.  And when the sun sets the whole place was illuminated with the sun’s golden light.

Even though I am a local Port Stephens wedding photographer, as part of my service I always visit your wedding location prior to your wedding day to prepare. When I visited the venue the day before their wedding to check out the light, I saw Jessica and Lukus’ families working together to put the final touches of their wedding reception at The Barrel Room: a long wine and storage cellar that has been converted to a dedicated wedding space.

Jessica and Lukus’ had the balcony of Wonganella Estate Wedding Venue & Accommodation illuminated with a ‘Just Married’ sign and took a couple of moments on their own to reflect on their wedding day. While Chloe and Michael, took advantage of Sunset Vine’s fresh look with white walls and kept their wedding reception simple yet elegant.
