Vineyard Wedding

LISA & SHAUN

Just when you thought a vineyard wedding couldn’t get any more romantic, imagine the full moon rising just in time for Lisa & Shaun’s couple portraits! I’m always excited was excited to photograph weddings in the vineyards (not only because I love my wine!) but as a photographer, witnessing the sun setting over the vines, the vineyards truly become a poetic setting. And Orange, NSW is nothing short of spectacular!

Lisa & Shaun chose a vineyard wedding in Orange, as Shaun grew up in this part of NSW. I thought it was appropriate that their wedding reception was held at Racine Restaurant – as ‘racine’ means ‘root’ in French. The wedding venue exudes that countryside charm, set amongst picturesque vineyards. The owners want to give their guests “good food, good wine and good service that creates a ‘flavour of the region’ in a sophisticated way”. As it says on their website “because rural doesn’t have to be rustic’!

Lisa and Shaun exchanged their wedding vows underneath ‘The Oak Tree.’ As a nod to Shaun’s Sri Lankan background, the wedding ceremony included some Sri Lankan traditions and concluded with Kandyan drummers leading the couple up the aisle and to the cocktail area with all their guests following behind them. With the drummers wearing elaborate costumes, this extraordinary style of drumming is one of the loudest and most exuberant in the world.

Sunset, full moon and vineyards – everything that spells romance were all there at Lisa & Shaun’s vineyard wedding!

Thank you Lisa and Shaun for allowing me to capture your beautiful wedding and for choosing me as your wedding photographer for your beautiful wedding in Orange, NSW.
