What’s it like to get married in Sydney’s famous zoo?

Child at heart? Why not get married at the zoo? That's just what a lot of our couples have done when they chose Sydney's famous Taronga Zoo for their wedding venue.

Saying “ I do” at a zoo is unique in itself, but when the zoo is the iconic Taronga Zoo, which undoubtedly has the best views of Sydney Harbour it really is something magical. Get ready for your guests (especially those who have come from overseas) to be mesmerised by Sydney’s magnificent views.

Why you’d love a Taronga Zoo Wedding?

Aside from the million dollar views, Taronga Zoo has versatile and separate wedding spaces that can cater to intimate weddings, as well as lavish weddings of up to 350 guests. It includes Epicure (formerly known as the Taronga Centre), The Dalang Ballroom and The Gili Rooftop - regardless which one of these spaces you choose for your wedding reception venue, you and your guests will be in for a feast of senses.

They can create mouthwatering menu for you from cocktail style to formal sit down dinner.

And since they’re all located within the Taronga Zoo, couples can enjoy to have their wedding portraits taken with the zoo’s best residents like the famous giraffe! The most exciting part is that as newlyweds, you can have the zoo all to yourself once the zoo shuts its gates to visitors. It really is an unforgettable experience to have your photos with elephants and giraffes!

Get to the zoo in style!

Some of our couples have chosen to get to Taronga Zoo for their wedding day by boat. It is a great way to relax and enjoy each other as a newly married couple, while admiring the Opera House, and Sydney Harbour Bridge. Of course, arriving at your wedding venue in style is never a bad thing!

Where to go for your wedding photos at Taronga Zoo?

It goes without saying that couples love to have their wedding photos within Taronga Zoo grounds. Having said that, there are plenty of spots near Taronga Zoo to take advantage of the different backdrops from bush, water and city skyline. Some of the locations that I take couples to make the most of their Taronga Zoo wedding photographs are Sydney Harbour National Park, Bradleys Head, Cliffton Gardens and Chowder Bay.
