Like many childhood memories spent holidaying by the water, soaking the sun and the surf, Alison who was from Dubbo, NSW spent a lot of her family holidays in Port Stephens. It was their beach holiday destination. With so many happy memories made, it seemed natural that when Alison and Luke decided to get married, they picked Port Stephens as their wedding destination.

And for a Fingal Bay wedding venue that has the sand, surf and a beautiful park at its doorstep, you can’t go past Saltwater Restaurant. As a local wedding photographer at Port Stephens, Saltwater Restaurant is one of my favourite Fingal Bay wedding venues and have had the pleasure of capturing beautiful weddings at Saltwater.

Alison and Luke had their wedding ceremony at the balcony of Saltwater Restaurant overlooking the expansive Fingal Beach. But before that Alison and Luke opted for a “First Look”, where the groom gets to see bride first before the ceremony. See their reaction on the photographs below. For their “First Look” location, we chose the scenic Barry Park at the southern end of Fingal Beach. Barry Park is also a favourite amongst couples to have an outdoor wedding ceremony.

After the ceremony, we headed straight back to Barry Park – this time to the rocky part of the park for Alison and Luke’s couple portrait session. As always this is a majestic location for couple portraits, especially at sunset. I always suggest (actually, insist) that the bride brings along comfortable footwear. If you’re up for it – this is one of those times where you’d have to take off the heels during the wedding day and enjoy the serene location. It’s also a perfect opportunity for you and your new husband/wife to get some quiet moments and reflect on your wedding ceremony.

To Alison and Luke, it was such a beautiful wedding, and thank you for allowing me to tell your story! Congratulations!
