Bohemian Wedding

SOPHIE & ALANA

The bohemian wedding of Sophie and Alana was a labour of love! With earthy rustic tones, dried native table arrangements and hanging greenery that were handmade by Sophie, it was a work of art for their special day set in a vast DIY wedding venue garden in Port Stephens.

When asked what was the most enjoyable part of their wedding planning, both agreed on the creative process of planning tops their list. “The creativity of having a DIY wedding venue and making the day completely our own. Time we got to spend together making and collecting things for our special day; all traveling to meet vendors and discussing our ideas and how to make that a reality was fantastic. Just knowing at the end of all this crazy planning it was exactly how we were planning it; we didn’t let anyone cramp our style and stuck to our guns on decisions.”

The bohemian wedding reception of the brides was set in Heaven Gardens, a garden venue in Port Stephens. It was a DIY wedding venue which allowed them to really put into reality their bohemian wedding ideas. ‘We originally were researching in the Hunter Valley. We heard from family about the up-and-coming venue and did some research and had Alana's mum and sister attend the venue with us on FaceTime. We fell in love with Heaven Gardens and the venue owners, Barbara and Andrew, are fantastic; right from the get-go we felt at ease, and could imagine ourselves amongst the enchanting gardens, saying 'I do' and it being our special place to declare our love.

Barbara and Andrew went above and beyond what we ever could imagine and were so accommodating of our dream and what we envisioned for our laid-back, earthy/boho vibe wedding.”
