Engagement photoshoot
A pre-wedding shoot is a way to announce your love to the world through photographs.
Being together is a celebration in itself and often couples choose to celebrate the precious time just before their wedding by having a pre-wedding session!
With so many amazing locations from Port Stephens, Newcastle, Hunter Valley and Sydney, we’re more than happy to create photographs like these for you to remember.
An engagement shoot gives you the chance to slow down and celebrate this exciting chapter before the wedding day arrives. Life often becomes busy with planning, and this is one opportunity to simply enjoy being together.
It's also a wonderful way to become comfortable in front of the camera. By the time your wedding arrives, you'll already know how we work, making your portraits feel relaxed and effortless rather than something to worry about.
Perhaps most importantly, your engagement photographs become part of your story.
They capture your relationship before you say "I do" and often end up becoming some of the most treasured images you'll ever have.

Why have an engagement shoot?
Reasons to have an engagement session
-
It’s a chance for me to see your connection, how you interact and those subtle things that you share that make you unique as a couple (like the way you look at each other). It’s also a way for us to get to know each other. Remember, I will be there with you on your wedding day!
Having a pre-wedding shoot is a way for us to build a rapport in a much more relaxed setting. I love laughing with my couples throughout the shoot, and usually at the end of the session, we both feel like we know each other as friends, not just as “client and photographer.” -
We always hear from couples that they don’t feel comfortable in front of the camera. Having an engagement photoshoot is a way to calm the nerves and enjoy the process! A few minutes into the shoot, I guarantee that you will forget the camera! And on your wedding day, having a camera pointed at you will not feel as threatening as it sounds.
-
It’s always nice to hear feedback from couples after seeing their engagement photos that they feel much more excited about their wedding day and that they’re even more sure they picked the right photographer for their wedding day!
A pre-wedding shoot is a way to have total trust in me, which allows you to just enjoy your wedding day and not worry about anything else.
-
This gives us a chance to really plan the engagement shoot to create a series of couple portraits that is only limited by what you both like! We can choose the location, the best time and what you feel represents you as a couple - all of these together aren’t possible during a wedding day as we have to follow a certain schedule.
-
A pre-wedding shoot is a chance for you to do something fun together and focus on each other. Treat it like a prelude to a great date night. Usually, the best time to do a shoot is at sunset, so why not extend the celebration by booking a dinner date?
-
Couples often choose a photograph from the session to be framed or printed as a canvas to display at their wedding reception. It’s also perfect for a Save the Date, a wedding website and a guest book.
-
An engagement shoot is the perfect opportunity to schedule your bridal makeup trial. You'll see how your makeup photographs in natural light.
It gives you the chance to make any adjustments before your wedding day, ensuring you're completely happy with your final bridal look.
