Sydney Registry Wedding: Zoe + Warren’s Intimate Wedding

Sydney Registry Wedding | Laneway Couple Portraits

Zoe and Warren decided to get married at Sydney Registry, Chippendale before heading overseas for their Greek wedding.  Warren was waiting for Zoe at the Sydney Registry office and it was a sweet moment when they first saw each other on the day.

Surrounded with a select group of friends and family, Zoe and Warren couldn’t contain their excitement, as this signals the beginning of their wedding journey. Three weeks’ after their Sydney wedding, they were off to the Greek island of Kefalonia! I had not heard of this island before but I definitely had since put in on my bucket list after meeting Zoe and Warren! Some couples opt for registry wedding just prior to their overseas wedding to get the hassle of paperwork out of the way. This by no means lessens the emotion of the moment as you can see on the couple’s faces. After their ceremony, they walked to Gin Lane, Chippendale for some celebratory drinks. Efharisto!

Where to go for couple portraits when having a Sydney Registry wedding?

The Registry Office, NSW is located in Chippendale. Being right in the middle of Sydney CBD, as well as the newly established Spice Alley at Kensington St with plenty of secret laneways, olden days architectures provide plenty of Sydney City vibe for couple portrait shoots. One of the many challenges that I face as a photographer is finding a great background for portrait shots at any location. So I do my homework before the Big Day and do a location spotting before the wedding. I do this even if I have photographed at a certain location many times. Imagine turning up at a place and finding a major construction happening! You can never be too prepared. And yes, I still get that rush of finding a nook, a cranny, a wall, a corner, or a building that looks amazing in photos!
