Elopement Wedding Nelson Bay
When you think of the word ‘elopement’, a romantic picture comes to mind of two people in love running away to an island paradise to get married. Jeff and Scarlett, may not have ran away to an island, but they certainly got married in a little paradise called ‘Port Stephens’.
A lot of couples choose Nelson Bay to say their wedding vows because of its beautiful beaches and rocky outlook, Scarlett had a more personal (and interesting) reason for choosing Nelson Bay as their elopement destination. She had never even been to Port Stephens before her wedding day! She chose this beautiful location because she would be a “Mrs Nelson” after their wedding! I am sure that after their beautiful ceremony, she and her little family will find this place extra special.
Their wedding ceremony was beautifully set on Shoal Bay beach. A couple of days prior to their wedding, I scouted the perfect location for their intimate ceremony – a secluded nook with rocky outlook as backdrop. I also had the honour of being asked to be one of their witnesses.
Scarlett looked beautifully romantic in her flowing dress and carefree hair blowing in the wind. Jeff looked just as elegantly casual in his wedding attire.
Elopement weddings don’t have the trimmings of a big wedding, but when it comes down to emotion – it’s just as intense – if not even more. Standing in front of the person that you love, and saying your vows of love with just the two of you is very powerful.
And just as Scarlett and Jeff, sealed their wedding vows with a kiss, dolphins came out to play in the water jumping almost as if to say their congratulations!
Scarlett and Jeff chose to celebrate their wedding day at Saltwater Restaurant, Fingal Bay with an intimate lunch.
Thank you Scarlett and Jeff for allowing me to capture your beautiful wedding. I hope to see more of you in Port Stephens in the future!
