We had a chat with Katie Nicholas, Little Beach Boathouse’s functions coordinator, to tell us why it’s considered as one Port Stephens top wedding venues.
~ Katie, Little Beach Boathouse is definitely a favourite in The Bay, and enjoys a very good reputation. Can you tell us a bit about its story?
Little Beach Boathouse sits on the old Little Beach marina and chandlery site. In 2013, the Little Beach Boathouse restaurant was opened by four young and energetic hospitality enthusiasts. Over the past 4 years they successfully built the business up to be one of the leading restaurants in the Port Stephens area. Extending downstairs and opening Little Beach Boathouse Bar in August 2016 is a testament to their success. The business now offers an entirely new facet in events and weddings whilst employing over 35 staff.
~ What do couples love about Little Beach Boathouse?
Being in an absolute waterfront location is the biggest attraction for our couples that choose to celebrate with Little Beach Boathouse. Along with having an experienced wedding coordinator at hand with years of experience up her sleeve gives them comfort that they will be guided through the process with no stone left unturned. Our simple, modern décor is also a huge attraction for the more relaxed bride that just want a party to celebrate with friends and family.
~ Planning a wedding is exciting but can be daunting at times! What’s your advice for brides and grooms who are currently looking for a wedding venue?
Prioritise! Discuss what matters to you both and write it down. What parts of the wedding are you happy to skimp on and what matters most? Everyone’s list is different and what matters is that you stay true to what counts for you.
~ What do you think are the best things about getting married in Port Stephens?
Definitely the water views, and cheaper venue and vendor options.
~ Do you have a secret favourite spot in Port Stephens that you don’t mind sharing?
At the back of Anna Bay overlooking the beach, there is a place where you can take the kids rock climbing, play in the water holes and watch sea urchins and fish in the water. I guarantee you will be there alone…
